Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. is an exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol LME.
Laurion's exploration horizons encompass not only gold, but also base metals and PGE's.
The mission for the Corporation is to quantify and reduce exploration risk and bring a faster, less expensive and more reliable analytical methodology to mining exploration leading to improved drilling success.
The main objective for the Corporation is to achieve long term growth based on the following strategies and criteria- identify strategically well located early stage mining projects in geological systems where discoveries have been repetitive;
- make sound business decisions based on disciplined financial criteria that appropriately balance costs, benefits and risks;
- create strategic alliance(s) with company(ies) who possess technical expertise that utilize leading -- edge geophysics and technologies, which recognize ore-bearing systems and locate ore deposits; and
- create strategic partnerships that access growth opportunities for the acquisition, divestiture, exposure and development of highly prospective properties for minimal financial risk.
THE PROPERTIES
Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. holds:- a 100% interest in 35 patented mineral claims located in the Geraldton-Beardmore Gold Camp, 120km northeast of Thunder Bay, (the "Sturgeon River Property");
- a 100% interest in 55 unpatented mining claims (589 units) in Fortune, Enid-Massey, Côté and Turnbull Townships (9,542 hectares) all located in Ontario (the "Enid-Massey Property");
- a 100% interest in 4 unpatented mining claims (52 units) in Clary Township located 50km west of the town of Temagami and 105km north west of North Bay, Ontario (the "Clary Property").
- The Corporation has a strategic alliance with Kiska Metals Corp. (previously named Geoinformatics Exploration Inc). and certain of its affiliates (collectively "Kiska"), pursuant to which the Corporation has staked five groups of claims located within Ontario known as the Midlothian, Raymond, Fox Mountain, Graydon Lake and Dorothea Projects (collectively the "Alliance Projects"). Each of the Alliance Projects is owned 51% by the Corporation and 49% by Kiska.
1. Gowganda Project.- The Gowganda Projects are located approximately 33 km northwest of Gowganda in the Midlothian Township and consists of the Midlothian (a 2,782 hectare claim block)
- The Raymond (a 3,291 hectare claim block).
2. Nipigon Project. - Fox Mountain, located 40 km west of Cameron Falls and straddles the Townships of Little Sturge and Leckie Lakes, and consists of a 1,730.5 hectare claim block;
- Graydon Lake located 23 km north-west of Cameron Falls within Graydon Lake Township and consists of a 2,209 hectare claim block; and
- Dorothea located 15 km northwest of Beardmore within Dorothea Township and consists of a 957 hectare claim block.

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. recently announced on February 5, 2010 that they had executed a Letter of Intent ("LOI") with Stroud Resources an option to acquire up to 60% of the mineral rights of Stroud's undivided 100% legal interest in the Leckie Lake Gold Property located 3 kilometres north of Temagami, Ontario. - See "Projects" Pages for a summary on the Leckie Lake Gold Project.
