2024 Exploration Advancements at Ishkõday: Expanding High-Grade Gold Potential
Summary of 2024 Exploration Program
LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. has made significant progress at its Ishkõday Project throughout 2024, guided by recommendations from its recent NI 43-101 Technical Report. The Corporation’s exploration efforts included spring and fall diamond drilling programs, summer prospecting, and channel sampling, all aimed at expanding resources and delineating high-grade gold zones within this prospective property. Key highlights from the program include:
Spring 2024 Drilling Program (4,289 Metres)
- Focused on expanding grade and tonnage potential near the historic Sturgeon River Mine.
- Results confirmed seven distinct quartz veins and shear zones, with true widths ranging from 0.5 m to 7.95 m and grades of 0.1 g/t Au to 7.78 g/t Au.
- Reinforced the orogenic characteristics of the mineralization.
Summer 2024 Exploration Highlights
- Ziibi Zone:
- Grab samples included 2.28 g/t Au, 3.4 g/t Ag, and 0.56% Cu.
- Channel samples yielded 5.91 g/t Au over 1.04 m and 1.61 g/t Au over 0.75 m.
- 85A and 85M Zones (Sturgeon Mine Area):
- Delineation of 85M2 and 85M3 veins northwest of the Sturgeon River Mine.
- Channel sample highlights:
- 85A L15: 24.9 g/t Au over 0.65 m.
- 85A L20: 21.0 g/t Au over 0.75 m.
- 85M L28: 7.48 g/t Au over 0.43 m.
- West SRM: 73.20 g/t Au.
- Twin Falls Property:
- Located 7 km west of the Sturgeon River Mine, this newly acquired property revealed:
- Grab samples of 61.50 g/t Au, 14.20 g/t Au, and 132.0 g/t Ag.
- Geological mapping highlights stockwork-related mineralization around intrusive igneous bodies.
Historical Findings at Ishkõday
- Previous work on M24 and M25 quartz veins produced:
- Channel assays of 16.35 g/t Au over 0.55 m and 6.20 g/t Au over 1.35 m.
- These veins, spanning a corridor of 1,800 metres, remain largely underexplored.
Fall 2024 Drilling Program (3,291 Metres) - Assays pending
- Targeting high-grade gold zones within the historic Sturgeon River Mine corridor, which hosts at least 12 distinct gold-bearing veins.
- The vein system is characterized by dominant 010° trending quartz structures with secondary anastomosing veins.
- Key focus areas include extensions of high-grade veins, open at depth and along strike.
Exploration Potential and Strategic Vision
With notable results across key zones and successful delineation of high-grade veins, LAURION’s 2024 exploration program has further demonstrated the Ishkõday Project’s mineral potential. The integration of historical data, advanced geophysics, and systematic drilling positions LAURION to uncover deeper and more extensive mineralized systems.
Looking ahead, the Corporation remains committed to its strategic goals of resource expansion and continues to evaluate opportunities for partnerships and acquisitions to accelerate project development. These advancements, combined with rigorous exploration, reflect LAURION’s dedication to maximizing the Ishkõday Project’s value while adhering to ESG best practices.
